Ham and cheese are always a great combination. Mix them into a biscuit dough and you have magic!

Cook Time: 20 Minutes
Total Time: 35 Minutes
Servings: 8

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 Tblsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ¾ cups shortening
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup diced ham

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°. Lightly grease a baking sheet.

  2. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt.

  3. Add shortening and work until it has a coarse crumb texture.

  4. Add buttermilk, cheese, and ham. Work together until it is just incorporated.

  5. Pat mixture onto a greased baking sheet until it is about 1½ inches thick. Cut into squares.

  6. Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until light golden brown.
