Apple season is finally here! It’s just a plus that it coincides with autumn! It only makes sense to head out to enjoy the vibrant fall colors and crisp cool weather while in an apple orchard. Many of these orchards do hay rides thought the fields, have U-pick apple trees, pumpkin patches and to bring it all….homemade cider sipping to keep you warm! Check out these 5 apple orchards in the Asheville area!!!

Piney Mountain Orchard

These guys are located in Hendersonville, NC which is well known for their apple orchards! Most of them in the area are located in Hendersonville!  They are third generation apple farmers and focus on community agriculture. Open 6 days and week and also make homemade ice creams to enjoy!

Justus Apple Orchard

This place is adorable 4^th generation orchard and also located in Hendersonville. If you do not have children then this place can definitely bring the child like sense of wonder out in you. Forget horse drawn carriages! Take a tour of the pasture with cow led train rides! It’s wonderful fun! They also have farm animal visits, a pond with ducks to feed and bakery with so many delicious goodies! If you get here early enough they also have U-pick pumpkin patches!

Sky Top Orchard

Sky Top is located in Flat Rock which is just a few minutes from Hendersonville. This orchard is my favorite! They have a magical and panoramic 100 acres of land that grows so many different fruits and vegetables. They make sure you will have a memorable experience with them by offering tractor pulled hay rides, farm animal meet and greets, an enchanting bamboo forest to explore, cider sipping and cider donuts on hand, acre upon acre of mountain paradise to explore and roam freely and of course….APPLE TREES! Highly recommended.
